Default 31 spline Tractech soft locker questions...

Here is my deal...

I have been running 31 spline stuff for about SIX years. I'm currently running a Moser 9" with stock length axles, Strange nodular case, Tractech soft locker and Strange 3.50 gears.

I'm upgrading to 35 spline stuff and a spool since the car is going to be in the 8's this year.

I want to get rid of the 31 spline stuff, but how can I figure out if the Tractech is still good? Are they rebuildable too?

Last time out I went 1.35's dead straight so I think it's okay.

Thoughts? Scott?

The only thing that wears out on Detroit soft lockers are the preload springs. If you can hear the locker engage and disengage then I would say it needs service. The last set of springs I bought were no more than $20.00 each so it's no big deal.

P.S. you have e-mail.

Scott, the locker en-disengages very obviously, so probably the springs are worn out.

A couple of years old. Maybe I can send it to you and have you take a look at it.

Sure, let me know when you get it apart and I'll clean it up and inspect everything.
