Pinion angle?

Default Pinion angle?

OK, car has Hals on the fronts and sits lower than stock. Has a Jegster TA b/c of the exhaust is so unorthodox, Metco LCAs/Relocation brackets. Measure Pinion Angle, it is 0 to +1, no wonder the car will not hook up!!

Will raising the front up some with the hals make the Pinion Angle different? I am thinking not, but just checking.

NOTE: this is not my car. Dont have the power to need Hals.

Ideally, you want about 1-2 degrees nose down pinion angle in relation to your driveshaft. I hate to tell you this, but pinion angle has very little affect on the hooking capability of these F-bodies. I've tried many different torque arms and many different adjustments to verify this. The proper pinion angle will keep vibration down and parts breakage to a minimum.

Interesting, what helps the most?

Big tires to hook? What else? if it matters this car is an M6 i am refering to with an LT1 solid roller.
The guy has done very well, he pushed the LT1 HOT cam to 11.9s at 115 but has always had a problem with traction, ET streets is what he runs with 4.1s in a 12 bolt.

Tires help the most, then the right clutch is next. You want to be able to launch at 6000 rpms without frying the clutch. McCleod is making some really good ones that are adjustble.

Eventually i will get all the mods out on the table, Mcleod Twin disc resides in it.
and i dont know what RPM he will be launching from but he has a 2 step to keep it consistant.

I have over 440 1320 passes on my mostly stock Z, and the one thing I can tell U is, after replacing the factory tourque with the BMR adjustable one I cut consistent 1.9x short times! I believe most of your gains came from running a much better torque arm...not from running a deeper pinion angle.
