DS Length Question

DS Length Question so I put my stock DS on the car this weekend, had the rear end at ride height and i put a mirror under the car to look at the DS. It went in about 1/4 further than it did before. I can tell b/c there is shiney part, then where it pushed in another 1/4, there is oil on the rusty part, the pic is below
Also, the rear yoke will upgrade to a 1350, which should be bigger. should i shorten my DS length? (i'm getting a new one)
I measured the length of my DS from 2 spots, hopefully one of them is correct...which spot should i have measured from? RED or GREEN? (pic below)

i'm away from my car for the next 2 weeks. and i think the measurements that i took aren't going to help me order my DS?
you can see i measured to the green to green on the DS and red to red
what about the input shaft on the DS? does that get replaced also?

I went through this nightmare not too long ago. Every single car is different, expecially when it comes to adj. LCAs and 12bolt/9in etc. I worked w/ Denny at www.dennysdriveshaft.com and got one that is perfect. 
If the driveshaft is going in only an extra .25", I would not worry about it. These cars are designed to have a tolerance level built into them for the driveshaft to travel back and forth. Some of these cars have the rear positioned closer to either the front or the rear of the wheelwell. Mine was towards the rear from the factory. Bob

cool so I should be okay then.
but what about ordering the shaft? they'll need a length and none of the measurements i took are the ones they ask for. I have the actual length of the DS?

This is how I got my driveshaft. I called a company that makes them, and they told me to measure from the end of the SEAL on the output shaft to the CENTER of the YOKE on the rear. And they sent the one that fit correctly. Also make sure you measure with the suspension loaded. After I gave them the measurements they said that stock lenght would be fine.

i tested it out and i'm 99% sure the stock length will be fine, judging from my pics above
but when i fill out the form to order, all the lengths they ask for, aren't the length of the shaft itself, its always to a seal or something
