How much Gear Whine is normal?
How much Gear Whine is normal? I recently had a set of GM 3.73s installed and they are working out good, except I have never had gears before on a car. I dont kno what to consider normal whine, or execisive. Usually when the car is cold and under normal conditions shifting at 2k rpm not a sound. Once it warms up, I usually start to hear a lil whine in the OD gears like 5th and 6th, of course this only happens when I'm between 1500 - 2000 rpm. Is that normal? Its not too bad I'm just wondering if thats normal or it will eventually go away, or god forbid get worst.!!!!lol
