Default Vibration & Clunking Noise

At only 1000-1200 rpm there is a somewhat annoying vibration (my initial thought was it could be just the exhaust) but I also have a clunk noise upon sudden acceleration/downshift from say a rolling stop. Is this a driveshaft or universal joint problem?

I have heard that some automatic drive shafts ping when suddenly under load. The same people said if you take it to the dealership all they do is fill the inside with a sound deadener or something like that. A "clunk" in the rear might be too much backlash in the rear-end.

If the vibe is in all gears then it is most likely a U-Joint.

Good luck, Stu
