OK, i have star stage 3 Kevlar disk. i thought i had a bad slave so i replaced it twice. and the last time with a master. here is the problem. as i rev up threw the power band. i seem to lose my peddle. the kicker is the clutch holds like hell. and never feels like it slips at all. and sometimes it does it just revving with the clutch disengaged. Not moving anywhere. just revving the engine up. I was for sure it was a slave. could it be a bad pressure plate? Please share your opinion's here.

Dave, Mine was doing the same thing with my Z06 clutch. I just replaced it with an 02 with new slave and master and the problem is corrected. I feel sure it was either my master or slave. Have you tried a different master?

thanks guys for the info. i replace the slave twice with new slaves back to back. and i put a brand new master in. but i think the prob lies in the clutch. it hold. but i think it is transfering to much heat to the slave. i will see soon.

This is back when I had an M^, but:
Installed Star Stage III w/ Carbon Disk. Stock 2000 hydraulics.
5800 miles, 10 track passes, 7-8 street races, later pedal starts sticking.
Replace hydraulics with 2001^ slave and master including drilling out line on slave w/ massive bleeding.
Still sticks.
Install McLeod Adj. master cyl. with reverse osmosis bleeding till the cows come home.
Awesome pedal feel...until I get in the power band.
Then it sticks.
Converted to A4.

I know that Mike Morgan was using the new STar setup on his Vette at the track on Sat. and by midday his pedal was sticking as well. And this was with their supposed new pedal solved issues.
That's what you're up against.
Good Luck.

I have your exact clutch, I have less than a thousand miles on mine but numerous street races. I had this exact problem and this is how i cured mine. I rebleed the system, I dont think did any good because there was really no air in the system. I topped of the resevor, and adjusted the master out about two turns. This got rid of the sticky pedal 100% Its weird huh. The clutch is not slipping but the pedal, or at least mine, came back about 50 percent and would stick. I dont know if this is right but the only thing i could think of was by lenthening the master stroke, your able to move more fluid thus making more pressure to the pedal. Good luck keep posting.

I found the problem!! OK. the clutch was perfect condition. no hot spots at all in the flywheel or pressure plate. they looked new!! couldn't believe it. the clutch was worn to the point i decided i should replace it. remember the clutch held!! but the problem lied in the dam pilot bearing. it got pushed out the retainer bushing.itmust of happen when i put the tranny back in after the rebuild.so i replaced the pilot bearing. i had a slight vibration, now that is totally gonei am thinking that the input shaft had enough vibration that it caused the clutch to slip just enough to heat up the pressure plate, anyway used the same flywheel, slave, and pressure plate. only changed the clutch. called star. they were cool about replacing the Kevlar disk to ensure customer satisfaction so
