Default 9" drive shaft

My Moser 9" just came in and 1 thing i over looked was the drive shaft. My question is does the 9"" require a shorter drive shaftor will the sock one work? Any info will help alot.

mine worked but I think it was a tad too long for the car (with the 1350 yoke). Wonder if some of my issues were due to a DS that was splined too far into the tranny

I used my stock one too but like Fireball I did have some tranny problems. Never really thought about it being slid to far up. Not sure if thats what caused it or not. Good luck with the rearend and thanks again. Drop me an e-mail and let me know when you ship those plates.

Can the DS being in too far in the tranny really cause damage? Mine is in all the way and then some. I have a CF DS so I cant shorten it.

Mine is pretty far in the tranny.

I'm getting a custom one made in the next week or two locally. It is 3.5" and weighs the same as a stock DS. Justin, how much did you get for your stock alum. DS?

If your drive shaft is in to far it will push on yhe output shaft and cause a vibration and or sever damage that is why I put up the post. when you put the drive shaft in look at the yoke and you should be able to see where the seal was riding on the yoke . You don't want that mark to go in past the seal. Thanks for the info.Derek the plates are on there way.
