Default Any one have wierd floorboard flexing noises after doing gears???

Just had my 3.73's installed in my stalled a4 Z thats has some slp subframes and driveshaft loop and uncrushed y-pipe. under hard/heavy acceleration from a dig it sounds like the floorboards are creeking. Is this the bolt in subframes doing their job? Dosent sound like a banging noise, like a y would make. Its more of a wrinkle/creek/flex sound....hard to describe.

is this normal?

No it isn't normal. I'd get under there and check the subframe connectors out. I'd also look at the drive shaft loop, as the driveshaft had to be removed for the gear swap. Bob

Are sfc's bolt in or weld in? If bolt in they will not hold up, you have to weld them.

Bob, I had the loop installed the same time as the gears, I guess I will get under the car this weekend and look around.

Yes, I have bolt in SFC's. So they are flexing when they shouldnt?

Anyone else?

I'd weld them in place, if it was mine. That way you don't haver to worry about them. You want to have the weight of the chassis supported by the tires when you do it. Bob
