No lockup in 3rd gear or higher! HELP :(

No lockup in 3rd gear or higher! HELP :( Well this came totally out of the blue.
Had just finished up a high speed run and was winding out 2nd gear to 107mph or so (2.73's) and when it was supposed to shift into 3rd it banged the rev limiter. Tried manually shifting from 1st to 2nd, (works perfectly) then 3rd, it just revs unless i take it up to about 4K rpms and it will semi-lock and accellerate normally that is until 107 mph when i need third.
Of course in normal city driving it goes from first to second normally then 3rd it just unlocks and doesnt stop revving. I had to limp home in 2nd gear so i wouldnt burn the tranny up due to a unlocked converter for 50 miles or so. <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" /> However maybe I have already burnt something up. Tranny only has 20K miles on it and i have the Yank St3500 in with a correctly installed transgo shift kit and a B&M tranny cooler. Converter/kit/cooler has been on for the last 10K miles or so.
This happened once before after i was racing at the track and was stalling it up high. Turned out to be PCM related cuz after i reset the computer everything was normal. This however just happenend with no notice with nothing but some WOT runs. Fluid level is fine and it is still red.

Re: No lockup in 3rd gear or higher! HELP :( Are you saying that the ‘verter won’t lock up, or that the trans won’t go into third gear? There is a big difference. My ‘verter doesn’t lock-up at all any more (since cam and new trans). It’s really not a big deal, I just turn a few hundred more rpms now. ‘Verter lock-up is just to improve gas mileage.

Re: No lockup in 3rd gear or higher! HELP :( I worded it wrong, basically it just wont go into 3rd gear.. does nothing but rev. While its revving i can take the rpms up to about 4.5K rpms and it will successfully lock up all be it in 2nd gear and i assume it would be fine until 3rd gear was needed.
So i guess that is pretty much describing no 3rd gear huh? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
