Those parts are not to bad, try to round them off with a stone on a small dremmel or a die grinder. Take your time and just round them off without taking off too much material. IMO they are in good condition and looks like some metal passed through that caused them to chip. Try to install a magnet in the 9 inch to trap any loose metal particles.

I had to cut my Moser axles when I got them. One was 3/16" too long and the othe was 1/8" too long. Mine would not even go all the way into the housing. I was running the Auburn posi though.

I have only gotten to put a 15 miles on the car since I put it back together. So far the 9 inch is acting better than it did new.
Got to readjust the exhaust and I should be all set.
