Stock rearend question
Stock rearend question I have a stock rearend on my 02 Z28 and was wondering what the chances that I might break it with Mickey Thompson's Street Radials on while I am at the track?
I have read alot of posts Here's what I picked up. Don't launch hard, if on a budget an aluminum girdle with the screws to put pressure on the bearing caps and I hear a solid pinion spacer instead of the crush collar that's my plan. total cost under 200.00, but that's just me.

M6 or A4? M6=high chance of breaking it. A4=less of a chance at your power level of breaking it.
Then again you are mostly stock. Ah the good ole 10 bolt guessing game

Hve 20 to 30 launches with the mt drag radials in my m6 and 10 to 15 with street tires and not a problem with 100 shot of spray and mods But it is going to be a chance you have to take some people break theres on street tires . My friend has a 02 A4 with mt drag radials spraying but leaves the line kinda soft (stock convertor) and has 100 runs on the 10 bolt . i think if you start replacing gears and diffs in the rear is when your taking the chance of start breaking things . But if it breaks dont look back replace it with a 9in. I have yet to see one break in person but i know there is many out there.
