New Moser Rear - HELP!
My Moser 12-bolt arrived in a crate last week.
Just want to make sure I have everything, and I have a few questions:
1-I already bought fluid. I also noticed it didn't come with a cover gasket. Should I just get a GM one from a dealer?
2-It doesn't have any backing plates. Is that correct??? Should I have gotten backing plates with my purchase?
3-They did put some bearings in the box... I assume I need those pressed on the axles?
4-What about the rear itself? Do I need to do anything special to get the axles installed?
I've got a driveshaft with a new yolk... I think I've got that part covered.
Can anybody help me with my questions? Anything else I might be missing?
Thanks!

1. The gasket is already installed, assuming you purchased an assembled gear set.
2. Use the backing plates/calipers from your stock 10-bolt.
3. Have the bearings pressed on at a machine shop.
4. Assuming you have the c-clip eliminator style of axles, you just slide them in after you have the backing plates and bearings installed. You will probably have to tap them into place using a hammer and block of wood. Then use the supplied t-bolts and the nuts you have to purchase to install the backing plates to the axle housing. Read the supplied directions carefully and don't hesitate to contact Moser directly. I found their customer support to be very responsive. If you have any doubt re what you are doing seek their advice first before you screw something up. Re your driveshaft, make sure that your rear u-joint is compatible with the Moser pinion yoke. I'm just guessing that you got a heavy duty shaft with 1350 u-joints. Take your time and, above all, break in the gears carefully. Use regular, non-synthetic gear oil. I've heard from trusted sources that non-synth gear oil will help temper/harden the gear set during break in because it has a higher carbon content than synthetic. Best of luck.

Wow... Thanks for the help! Much appreciated!
It looks like they forgot to include the gasket for the cover. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
