During 3/4 and full throttle launches, 1st gear (for the short time it is in) seems/feels to slip a little and then 2nd comes in nice and "firm". Could this be the dreaded Torque Managment at work? I have no Atap or LS1 edit at this time to moniter anything nor do I have any experience with TM so I was wondering if anyone could help. It could be in my head, afterall, I only have 360 miles on her but it just feels weird. Thanks for any input.

could just be your spinning the tires a bit and dead hooking after the upshift.

TM makes the car feel like its dieing on the upshifts.
