Your pinion looks to need a LITTLE BIT less of a shim under it. Personally, I'd run it. Should be rather quiet once it's broken in.

It would be nice if I didn' thave to mess with it anymore, because everytime I try to take the pinion bearing off I damage the shims. Maybe someone here has a good trick for getting the bearing off without damaging the shims.

I dont have a extra bearing to hone out either.

I was about to suggest that... I took the old bearing off and honed it down so it'd slip over the new pinion. With .008" backlash, I'd say you're good to go... just don't come hunting me down if it breaks, aiight???
