Rebuilt Ford 9" Trak Loc posi, worth anything?
Would this be any good to use for a daily driver around 400rwhp street car?
I've got a Moser 9" with 31 spline Moser axles. But, it has a junkyard center section with 3.70 gears and a spool.
I can get a rebuilt Trak loc posi (4 pinion, steel discs) with standard case, new 4.11 motive gears and all new internals for $455 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9-for...QQcmdZViewItem
I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I haven't read much about the regular Ford Posi units, except that an eaton or truetrak is better. But, they're a bit more $$.
I should note that the front seal on my current unistalled 9" is leaking as well.

I've read about plenty of people breaking those posi's (and those strandard housings) at the track. I would guess it would be ok if you don't go to the track much, and you don't use too sticky of a tire.

It HAS to be way stronger than my stock rear. And that's doing fine.

I'm not really sure how it compares to a stock 10-bolt, but I would imagine it would definitely be stronger.

Well... for $455, it turns out you get a rebuilt "econo-lok." ?? (no thanks)
For $630 shipped I can get a brand new Trak loc. I'm getting prices on an eaton posi or truetrak as well.
