Need To Know What Spline I Have...need Fast Help!! I have a 1987 pontiac firebird- 10 bolt 7.5 with an open diff 
.. i am putting in a posi unit and need to know the AXLE spline before i take it all apart...is it 26 or 28? What i have seen is 88 and up have 28 and 87 and below have 26.

'87 'should' be 26 spline. '88-'89 is a changeover year, seen several posts like this and no one could ever come up with a solid answer.
My solid answer is to take it apart and check. It might suck for now, but whats going to happen when you order parts, take it apart and find out they are wrong? It's gonna suck worse.
