Shifter Rattle in 3rd Gear

Shifter Rattle in 3rd Gear The ongoing saga...
OK, I brought my 2000 SS (with M6+Hurst) to the dealer today. They have rebuilt the M6 trans one time due to a wicked shifter rattle while accelerating in 3rd gear. The rebuild occured about 10K miles ago.
The shifter still rattles in third gear, but not as bad as before. So I rode around with the shop foreman today (Sullivan Chevy in Roseville CA.) and he tells me that the noise is normal. Especially with the Hurst shifters. "All the Manual Camaros make this noise to some extent with the Hurst shifter" So I asked why he rebuilt the transmission the first time if the noise was normal? Is this a normal noise? Rattling or tapping noise under hard acceleration in time with engine RPM? Please help me out here.

Re: Shifter Rattle in 3rd Gear My 00M6 does the same thing occasionally with my Ripper shifter. It comes and goes. Checked my trans mount and it was fine. Mine always does it in third also. I havent got KR or any other probs. from it. I know for a fact my shifter is properly installed. Dont sweat it!!

Re: Shifter Rattle in 3rd Gear Man I have the same problem with my car. Under wot above 3k in 3rd it rattles like crazy. Had trans flushed and new fluid put in, didn't help it that much. Car had stock hurst in it, I just put the pro 5.0 in last night to see if that would make a difference. LOL it is worse now, shifts great but rattle is horrible. If you hear anything else or find something out about this let me know, it drives me nuts.
