Tapping Noise, any ideas

Tapping Noise, any ideas I have a 2002 SS with a six speed and the stock 10 bolt rearend and there is a tapping or slapping noise coming out of the rear end whenever I am coasting in a left hand turn. If I am decelerating or accelerating, it is quiet. It just started this weekend on my way home from the track. I have around 300 runs on it with Nitto's on a somewhat slick track. It has the Zexel-Torsen rear end. If you have any ideas what it might be, I'd love to know.
I'd also appreciate suggestions on whether to rebuild it or replace it with something stronger. I'm with the Air Force in Germany so getting a new rear end shipped over would cost about $500 just in shipping and it would be even worse if I have to also get a new driveshaft. Getting a drive shaft shortened would be very difficult to get done well.
If you suggest replacing it, I'd appreciate your opinion on which one to get. Thanks.

Well I have had the same issue since about October and I havent had the time to open it up yet. This is my daily driver and so far it hasnt caused a major malfunction. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!! I think I am just gonna drive it till it detinates then replace it with something. If you figure it out let me know!

Thanks for your reply. I may just keep driving mine too, but don't want to miss any opportunities for the races. I only get to race 6 times a year over here and I really don't want to blow it up. I may pull the cover off this weekend and see if I can see anything.

I finally pulled the rear cover off and didn't find anything at all. Play, wear, etc. were all normal. They I used a stethoscope and listened to the bearings. The right rear wheel bearing has a very slight tick in it. I've got a bearing ordered and hope to get it in next week. I'll let you know if that fixes it.
