ford 9' hard to turn

alright i have my 9' installed now and i have put about 150 miles on it. ok i am haveing a lot of trouble to turn the tires with the car in the air. i understand 9' is harder to turn and i have a spoll but damn not like this. one of my friends turn to turn it and he thought it was still in park. the car is even hard to push. is this normal?

a spool is going to make it as bad as possible. I figured as much when I saw the title that you were spooled.

My 9 inch is easy to turn!

Do you have the Moser setup! I had to cut about 3/16 off the driver's side axle on the install. The axel was too long and caused the diff to bind. Don't know if that's your problem or not!

yea its a moser housing/axles and a strange center section, how did you figure out it was too long? I would think if it was binding like that wouldnt it be hard to driver around?

I was pre-warned by a friend (he had the same problem), so I installed the passenger side axle first, no problems, everything turned free. Then I installed the driver's side, and as I tightened the backing plate bolts, it began to bind and become hard to turn! Removed, trimmed the end and reinstalled. No binding now. All is good!
