PT4400 on daily driver...

How many TP4400 launches can a 10 bolt handle on ET streets?
Nick</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">My guess would be not many.
A lighter car reduces the flashes stall because the car starts moving sooner (and thus the converter output shaft speed is no longer 0 rpm). This reduces the hit to the tires by a small amount.
At a well prepped track a 10 bolt can last with ET streets, but many do bust. If you can't risk having to repair (or possibly replace) the rear, don't use ET Streets.
The 15" 275 BFG Drag radials may be able to handle the 4400 & 3.23s at a good track. Don't count on them lasting as they will need a good heating. ET Streets would be better.

It's one of the best converters for these cars, bar none.
You need to have 3.73's or higher. Lower gears will be too loose for many.
ET Streets are necessary for this converter. Yes, you're taking a chance with the 10 bolt. But it's very frustrating, IMO, to go to the track and spin at the line. This converter will spin anything less than ET Streets at the track, let alone on the street. Yes, I broke a rear once, but made lots of passes without breaking after that on a 10 bolt with this combo.
I'm currently using the UT4800, and I'm returning to the 4400, despite my high revving motor. The 4400 is completely proven with lots of different setups.
Like lots of guys, I started with lower stalls, and continuously moved up, one at a time. If you want to go this route, that's fine. But it's not the cheapest route. My advice as a "hindsite" comment would be to get the TP4400 and be done with it.

<strong>Well said. With my mods, what RPMs will get the car "moving"?
Nick</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">2800 or 3000 to keep up with moderate traffic.
The car will move a less RPM, but not like the rest of the traffic.
These are RACE converters.
And lordy do they work well.
Its kind of fuzzy on which converter I want. It's a toss up between a sy3500, st3500, tp4000, and a tp4400. I can't make up my mind on which would be best for my set up. It's about to drive me ape ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
