ANYONE HELP WITH GEARS!! OK I have a 1998 A4 Z28 with ASR and I have 2:73s but I am switching them to 3:73s what do I need to drive away happy. I have 3:73 gears hypertech and a 3 series carrier when I find one. Am I missing anything?? Thanks Zoran
Re: ANYONE HELP WITH GEARS!! The most important would be a 3 series reluctor ring so your ABS, if you have one, will work. Then you might need shims, new pinion nut, new crush sleeve, gasket, some gear oil, additive if it's an Auburn, and new differential ring bolts. That should cover it I think.

Re: ANYONE HELP WITH GEARS!! Since u have 2.73s u probably have steel driveshaft. That may or may not cause vibrations with 3.73s. Be prepared to get an aluminum driveshaft.
Another thing is that I would remember there has been some downshift issues in A4 programming with hypertech, something about hypertech not calibrating all the tables thus causing issues in some cases. If that happens u might want to consider getting ls1edit.
