The only reason to ever add the friction modifier is if your posi has clutches. If there's no clutches, then no don't use it.

I use Mobil 1 in mine. No probs. I have the Torsen posi and still use the additive from GM: it can't hurt, and in some cases may make it run a little quieter. Almost 54K miles, now. Never figured out what all the paranoia is about syn oil. The actual fill level -when the car is level- will be a little less than 2 quarts. When you fill to the point that you are getting seepage back out of the fill hole, let it seep until it quits. Doesn't hurt to wrap some teflon tape around the fill plug threads as they are known to "weep" a little sometimes.

Look for a gear lube that has GL5. This is the additive GM recommends.
Personally, I use Redline. depending upon climate, use either 70W90 or 80W140.
I'm in Texas and the car sees some road course action in 100 degree temps. I use 80W140. Robs a little power, but it certainly saves wear and tear on teh diff.
