Question Is the 2001 WS6 an open diff?????

I have an A4 that I just took off of my car and replaced with a strange rear end. I was wondering if it is a posi like rear end or an open rear. The gears are 2:73. Also what a good asking price for a completely intact rear with 26000 miles on it?

All LS1 cars came with posi rears. WS6/SSs w/ A4s required 3.23 gears as "mandatory option": are you sure they are 2.73s (or that they came from a real WS6)?

Yeah its a 2001 ws6. I took the rear en off and upgraded to a strange. If all the A4's came with 3.23's then I was given bad info.

Not all A4's, but WS6/SS should be 3.23. Look for RPO codes G80 (axle positraction, limited slip) and GU5 (3.23) on the drivers side door. A 3.23 rear is more valuable than 2.73, and easier to sell.
