Will I notice a difference going from 2.73-3.23
Just wondering cause my carrier bearings are getting pretty noisy and I've got a low mileage 3.23 rear out of an '01 z28 that I'm thinking about buying. I'm not buying it for performance reasons but still if it does give me any gains thats just another perk...
The around town seat of the pants difference is quite large, while 1/4 mile times are only a couple tenths. Unless your car is a true highway queen then you'll be happy.
3.23's are very well matched to auto cars, they really never should have put 2.73's in. 2.73's are great highway gears but make the cars real turds around town and off the line.
You will get better track times out of a converter, but if you have a cheap route or need to tear in there anyways, 3.23's are worth it.

So you think I will shave a tenth or two off my time at the track while doing it?? We only have 1000ft. tracks around here but I figure all the benefit of gears has been had by then anyways...
