Default Gears

Is there much difference between the 3.90's and the 4.10's?

No, not much of a difference at all...I had 4.10s and then went down to a 3.90, I could barely tell a difference.

Are 3.90's a 39/10 ring/pinion? Makes sense. I know that 4.10's are 41/10 ring/pinion. In "theory", each of the 39 teeth on the ring should be thicker than each of the 41 teeth of 4.10's?? If that's the case, they should be marginally stronger (if that's even a word we can use around the 10-bolt!) than the 4.10's. And considering they won't limit your top speed in 4th quite as bad as 4.10's, they're probably a good compromise between 3.73's and 4.10's.
