carrier questions
ok now that i know i have a 2.73 i need to change my gear and carrier i would like to do a 3.73 or a 3.90. what carrier should i buy? what axels should i buy? i kno i should do a 12 bolt but i dont have that kind of cash rite now. should i put a girdle on it? what is the strongest gear set? so i basicly need to kno how to make my 10 bolt last for a while. i also heard that since my car is auto that i might be able to just keep the 10 bolt and build it up a little. and that i could run a boot and be ok. thanks in advance for you help/opinions.

No...
2 series and 3 series are different carriers, one is not really stronger than the other, anything with a 10 bolt is a crapshoot. You have 2.73s so that means you need to get 2 series gears, whatever ratio you want. All of the companies make good sets.
Don't waste money adding axles...any time you feel like you want to put money into a useless 10 bolt, put it into your piggybank and start saving for a 12 bolt or 9 inch.

No need for a different carrier. Like Keliente said you just need to make sure you order gears for your series 2 Carrier. I put 4.10s in my car .. factory 2.73s series 2. They make all the popular ratios for the series 2. Simple as that.
