Id only use a spool for track duty if it was up to me. Do a search for the word spool, and see what others say about them.

A spool means both axles are 100% tied together, so that when launching the car both tires will have equal amounts of power given to them. Turning tight corners is harder on the tires and axles, as both tires will be turning the same speed.
I recommend using the Truetrac differential for street use for all but the serious high horsepower cars. If you have 600 rwhp or more, I would go with the spool. I've driven spooled cars quite a bit on the streets, and in the rain you just have to be careful going around corners. Bob

Why not just buy a DETROIT LOCKER? Axles are locked together when under power and let loose when you make a turn. The good thing with a full blown locker is that there are not parts to wear out(stupid *** clutches)like in a limited slip or a posi. Plus if you get it from the right place, if you break it(not likely) then you can send it back and get a brand new one for FREE!
