putting it short, it gives equal power to both rear wheels at all times, so when u turn for instance it will be a lil funky cause unlike a posi that has spider gears, one wheel wont turn less the the other, keep in mind this is a very simple, kidnergarten like explanation

yeah, not good for a daily driver....
Think of it like this (sort of what was stated above). With what you have now when you turn one wheel will turn slower then the other. If you make a right turn the passenger rear wheel will slow down.
With a spool both with turn at the same speed and will make a lot of noise.

Well i understand that part of it, i actually meant from a technical standpoint. Meaning the specific mechanics of what it is, i.e. specific parts, were exactly it is located (inside the diff or off just offthe housing), etc.

I had a spool in my 355s10 it drove perfect , turn circle is decreased , tires squels making a err err err sound tuning in gas stations trying to get lined up with the pump and everyone stares . I had ps with no pump , spool and I drove it in the rain no problem . If you careful and be easy turning its no different than a locker . If you autox cross your car get a locker instead .

A spool is a solid ring gear carrier that does not allow the tires to turn at different speeds, they are locked together. There is no spider gears, cones or clutches to hold the load. just flip thru a summit or jegs,or any website that sells rearend parts-Randys ring and pinion for example. Spools are extremely simple, but I would not use one on the street for a daily driver

for those of you who say the spool is not for the street, do you own 1 and drive it on the street? I do and honestly I cannot tell the difference unless I'm making a very tight turn. As in the wheel is almost to full lock. Above 10mph, you wont know the difference. I've already broke a 12 bolt 4 times, so the spool was the only other option.

A spool will be in my new rearend .Hell its the cheaper option too can't beat that with a stick plus its strong *** fack . I liked it in my truck, had zero problems with it . if you have problems turning then spin the *** end around and it wont hurt the posi clutches ..oh wait their isnt any to worry about
