Fab9 anybody?

Fab9 anybody? Just wondering why I dont see many people here using a fab9 rear end. Those things look stout as hell and I've seen them on several dragsters or "rails" if you will so i know they can handle brutal power. I like the features of a 9" rear but I cant stomach putting a Ford part in my chevy. The fab9 looks stronger, has the gear swapping ability I like and is not a Ford part. There's gotta be some down sides cuz not many people appear to have them, right? This rear is one I'd like to save for but if its in vein someone please stop me!
I contacted Chris Alston Chassisworks a few weeks ago and they are working on a FAB9 for the late model f-bodies. I don't know pricing info yet, but it will probably be a little more than Moser or Strange.
With the problems we are seeing with case distortion on the Moser and Strange 12-bolts, I am leaning strongly towards the 9".

A lot of it is price. They are great and if I did not have a 12 bolt already I would go that route. Dana 60 looks promising as well at a lower price point.
