9 inch/torque arm causing problems
9 inch/torque arm causing problems Can anyone give me some advice as to how to stop my rearend from bottoming out under load. I looked under the car the other day and noticed that it had a hole the size of a quater right by the rear passenger seat. I thought of getting a sledge hammer and going to town on it, but needed to know if it just might be my angle on my adjustable torque arm that needed to be fixed. Can anyone give me any advice I think all this noice/hitting under the car is setting off my knock sensors and is making my car sluggish

Andy, I would add some clearance by using a pry bar against the torque arm to push the sheetmetal back. It helps to do this while having the rear of the car up on jack stands, along with having a jack under the rear to keep it up where it would be when the car is being driven. Bob
Sorry, I was going to post one up, but found out that by sister-in-law took my digital camera. It mostly hits right around the rear left passenger seat and right above the differential. I took a sledge hammer yesterday and went to work on it, but I still have some work to do. I also looked around yesterday and oddly enough I found that my exhaust was also hitting the underside right where a u clamp connects my exhaust and it also made a small hole. 
Oh well I guess it's all part of going fast....
