9inch or dana 60?
This question has probably been asked a hundred times but I am looking for more detailed input.
My cars setup is looking to have 475-550 rwhp n/a and the possibility of a 200 hundred shot. The car will be my daily driver still and is a 4 channel rear.
I plan on launching at6300 rpm+ on et drags. Which is the better choice?

I have no experience with the 9in., but my strange dana 60 is great. I'm running 4.11 gears w/ a truetrac on 28in. slicks w/ no issues dumping from 6000 rpms. Granted the gears whine a little, always have since the install. Hope this helps.

I bet the bushings do contribute, but that is the price you pay to kick the hell out of other cars on the street! Strange sets up all the rears, dont they? I mean if you buy one for the f body... I thought strange did it all, and added fluid. You just bolt the puppy in.

I've had mine in since the GP through speed went down. I have heard alot of people in the GP are having problems with there S60's. Sure, mine whines a little, but no other problems. So, I've had mine for quite sometime now.

Any gear set in any axle will make noise if not set up right. The shop I work for had a 9 inch in a car straight from moser that made "alot" of whineing noise. I recently put a set of richmond pro 4.11's in another 9 inch and it still isn't makeing any noise after repeated runs down as low as 10.33 in a 3600 lb. T/A. As far as selection, I would go with the S60. It is as strong as the 9 inch as has a better internal pinion angle and as a result, less parasidic drive line loss. The owner of the T/A I just mentioned said that after we installed the 9 inch it felt like he had the breakes on while driveing. My .02
