Default car shudders at takeoff...

i just got my car yesterday....and im trying to get it running tip top before i start modding it, so here goes....(i also posted in tranny section)

while pulling off from a stop, the car seems to shudder, shake, whatever you want to call it. this goes away as soon as the car gets going. its not like its about to die (i give it enough gas), it just seems kind of like a loose tranny mount or something wrong with the tranny or rear end.

anybody have any information that can help me out here? thanks in advance..

edit: also, when letting off of the clutch at a higher rpm than the current engine speed (such as downshifting or just holding it in and coasting), there is a vibration when the clutch engages the tranny. ???

check your trans mount.

i did some work on the car and mine looks somewhat worn for 147k.

also check your tq arm for the start out. it may be giving from the torque on start out.

Also keep in mind that the transmount might not appear to be damaged if you just jack the car up and peek under there. You might need to jack up the trans a half inch or so to unload and slightly stretch the transmount before a crack or tear becomes obvious.

Generally though, by the time you notice a problem, they are pretty torn and therefore it's fairly obvious. Just keep it in mind.
