Default True Track or Spool

Okay, I am going to be pushing around 850rwhp thru a 6spd. And there will be some street driving. So my question is will the 9inch with a true track hold hard launches on the track. My concern is because you can only get them with at the most 31spline. Or should I rough it with a spool?

Those two differentials aren't even in the same category...you'd be better off comparing a detroit locker to a spool for your kinda power. On the street, I'd say the true trac would be best, and the spool would be your best bet on the track during hard launches.

If you are spending the kinda money it takes to get 850 RWHP, spend a little more and make sure you have a 9" rear, and have two center sections assembled - one with a spool for the track, one with a true trac for the street.

Thats it a good point. And i amy infact do that at a later time. The money is already getting high. So I will just go with 1 center section for now. So that is why I am wondering if the true trac will hold.

He's right--Locker or spool. A Tru-trac won't hold that much.

I don't think there's any way a true trac will hold what you're gonna be laying down...you are in a different league, my friend.

Go with a spool, I've driven quite a few of them on the street, even in the rain with drag radials. Parking can be a hassle, but other than that I don't see a problem with it. Bob

I'm just going to go with 2 center sections. The true trac for the street and either th locker or spool for the track. Which would be better the detroit locker or the spool?

For a track only purpose? Spool all the way...a soft sidewall tire like you'd be running there should make life pretty easy in the pits and staging lanes.
