Default strange clunk

I searched and only found general clunks that didn't really fit my problem.

My rear end gives a clunk under full throttle, and going around a right hand turn. If I baby it, I get nothing. It also seems to only come from the passenger side. I can drive it as hard as I want...to the left. I was thinking it was the limited slip???

Any suggestions?

Me too. Mine makes a clunking sound when I cut the wheel right or left....on the highway....no sounds. Just got back from the track....I think that my 10-bolt finally went bye-bye....not bad after 300+ passes. On a bright side, I ran a personal best of 12.65 @ 114.49 on street radials. Time for a 12-bolt with 4.10s

Did all of you already check your LCA & PHB bushings/bolts for wear or being loose??

BTW 2001; I thought I had the most lightweight/no option/stripper, daily street driven car on here. You've got me beat, as I still have a stock stereo system!! Isn't it GREAT NOT having all of those power; window/seat/mirror problems everyone else seems to have to suffer through (as well as the lighter weight)??

Turns out, I sheered some teeth off my spider gears. Dealer wants $1300 to fix it. I think that I'll throw in a 12-bolt w/ 4.10's and spend the extra $1000 and get something that is going to last.

Hey, dailydriver, I have the factory radio also but that is about it for options. Did you ever get yours weighed? What times are you running? Good to see another fellow stripper out there!

Spider gears are the gears inside the differential unit? Can't you buy spider gear kits to rebuilt the stock diff?

I've never been able to get an accurate weight, but at E Town's VERY unreliable scales it came in at about 3360# with a half tank of fuel, without me in it, and sans jack & spare.
My best is a 12.67 @ 112.64 on a 1.90 60' (8.23 @ 85.77 1/8th)

This was with; lid, filter, SLP CAI, 4.10s, Nitto DRs, Random Tech torque arm, SLP y pipe, 2OTL catback, Pro 5.0 shifter, Mac cover, 1/4 tank of 93, no jack or spare, or mats, and a 60' destroying road race/handling suspension setup (full size fronts, swaybars, GC coilovers with Koni adjustable shocks (NOT their drag shocks!). EVERTHING else was pure stock (intake, exhaust manifolds, cats, internals,etc.).
