I'm looking to get a new setup but i dont know the pro's/cons of these 2? i know the 9" is one of the strongest you can buy it its more expensive of course. i'm probably never gonna have more than maybe (by a miracle) 400rwhp. I HAD A 9 SEC CAR WITH A 12 BOLT 33 SPLINE SPOOL 1.31 60FT'S , BUT I'D GET A 9" CAUSE IT'S EASIR TO CHANGE GEARS AND IT IS HARDER TO BREAK, BUT FOR THAT MUCH HP EITHER IS FINE

You can do a 9" for about $1500-$2000 depending on what kind of posi you use (IE: Detroit Locker, Auburn, Spool, etc), but you cannot have ABS or TCS.

A 12 bolt will generally be more expensive, but you can retain your ABS and TCS, as well as have what I call a more "streetable" rearend. I had a 9" and had leaking problems (pinion seals never seal <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> ), and a vibration at ~3000-4000 rpm, I assumed it was because the pinion is in a different location on a 9", but not sure.

FYI: A 9" will be stronger and parts are generally cheaper, I will most likely go with a 12 bolt next time, FWIW. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

You cant get tcs/abs on a 9"? i think SPEEDINC has on that has that option?
vibration? i just want something that is streetable and strong. i dont want to have to really worry if i'm gonna bust it or not.
