All gear sets are heat treated... I guess if you auctually wanted to persue it you can look into some pro series type gears... I dont think anyone makes 9310 sets because the 7.5's are such POS's

9310 gears are actually softer to absorb the shock load of hard launches. Since they are strictly designed for track use the softer material isnt an issue like it would be with a lot of street miles or continued high heat use. You are also correct, there are no 9310 gears for 7.5's just for the reason you said.
I dont think a harder gear would accomplish anything anyway seeing as how it would just be more brittle. These gears do flex and bend which is why they get a whine after hard launches, if the gears were harder they would probably break rather than bend. So instead of noise you would end up with a broken gear.
I dont think you were saying that 9310 were harder, just wanted to clear that up.
