Replacing Tranny Mounts
Replacing Tranny Mounts I have been noticing that my shifter has been vibrating under acceleration, and at times my center console will rattle under heavy acceleration. So i'm thinking that replacing the tranny mount is a good idea. Where do i get a good one from, and how much does it cost?
Re: Replacing Tranny Mounts GM Dealership, just ask them for the 1LE Trans Mount. I dont have the excact part number but i'm sure someone else will step in here and supply it.
P.S this mount is the so far that works, the poly one energy suspension makes will give you some false knock. I think i paid $40 for it.

Re: Replacing Tranny Mounts I just installed the prothane tranny mount today and I hate it. Transmits every single vibration in the car directly to your butt. My butt is still numb from driving the past hour. I think Ill try the 1LE part next.

Be aware that it requires a 10M x 1.5 grade 8 nut and a couple of hardened oversize washers to install (use your stock nut as a template for size and thickness of the washers) since its smaller diameter than stock. These parts conveniently DO NOT come with the mount <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Re: Replacing Tranny Mounts The poly trans mounts are a couple of mm too tall. Put a steel washer at each of the 4 bolts, between the body and the trans plate to lower the trans back to stock height, et voila, the noise and vibration are gone.

Re: Replacing Tranny Mounts Actually my prothane mount ended up being about 1/8" shorter than the stock one.. but I did not want to put a washer down to space it up.. mount would be resting on less of a contact area, and im not sure that would be a great idea. Maybe a spacer plate would work better in that situation.
