Ahhh, okay, thanks. Hmmm, so, there is now 3 possibles in the equasion!? I must say, even though the poster asked about 9 or 12, I think LorcinLs1 should elaberate for the rest of us, that never heard of it for the 4th gens, about that unit. Where to get, how much?
I think the 9 is the way to go personaly, for me anyways, but, that vibration has me scared. Sure would like to know what thats about and how to get rid of it? My luch is I "will" have it, so, I would need to beat that problem to the punch.

go to strange's web site. I haven't noticed mine to whine more than my 10 bolt did. I went through a sponser here Ron @ vengance, http://www.vengeancerd.com/ his price was cheaper than going to strange direct.
Strange Engineering
Strange S60 Dana Rear End
F-Body Dana Rear End Features:
25lbs heavier than a 12 bolt, 10lbs heavier than a 9"
Standard True-Track Diff w/Power-Lock
35 Spline Posi
All new casting using 3.0" OD Tubing, 1/4" Thick
Large ring gear than 12 bolt (by 0.875) and 9" (by 0.75)
Standard Dana Gear can handle 1200RWHP
Many Gear Options
LT1 build in mounts - LS1 requires backing plates to be sent in!
Driveshaft will need to be shortened 1.625"
From what I understand the 12 bolt has an 8% power loss, the 9" is something like 10-12% power loss and the s-60 is only 5% power loss. i have to believe its that low cuz I didn't see any difference in my car at the track. i think the weight difference helped my car hook better on the launch and i'm running 26X10.5 mt et streets.

i wouldn't bother to shorten a drive shaft. i've seen many stock aluminum driveshafts break with a 10 bolt. i got the chromemoly shaft that goes with this rear. it was completely assembled from strange ready to go.

I'm supprised that the s60 only has a 5% loss in power. I was under the impression that it would be more than a 9". You say that it's only 25lbs heavier than a 12bolt that's kind of a surprise too. Thanks for your imput , I may have to consider it , I just thought it would be an overkill rear for my car.

I've got the moser 12 bolt, its 3lbs heavier than my friends 9inch, he had no brake assembly, mine was already installed. 35 spline axles, true trac and 4.30s, no leaks, no problems with the torque arm bolts, and has held up to 5500rpm drops on a trans with the viper parts, tex twin disc, full slicks, 430 rwhp with a 175 shot as of lately, used to be 150 in every gear. Its also allowed me to pull the tires slightly up. I have also seena 12 bolt on my friends turbo camaro hold where his 9inch didn't, and vise versa for some others, and he runs stick shift, if you want strenght, I'd vote dana s60, but its a toss up between the others.

I've got a Moser 12-bolt with 33spline TrueTrac (clutchless posi) and I still have ABS and TCS. No complaints and it's plently strong. Just don't get 3.90 gears. It's what I have and they are pretty loud. I've been told by Moser that the 3.90's tend to be the loudest gear.
...Would have been nice to know before I bought the rear...
