Arrow Ford 8.8 rear end

Ok so i have a ford 8.8 and am trying to fab it up to my 2000 SS, and what i guess im looking for is the correct measurments of a stock rear end. I have a friend who just purchased a moiser 12 bolt and it measured 21 3/4 on drivers side and 21 11/16 on the passenger side but i measured from the end of the weld on the axle tube to the end. Im not sure if i did that right cause im thinking i should have started measuring were the weld started but i was just hoping someone would have the correct measurments out there?

One of the axles may be longer than the other on that 12 bolt so dont get confused. How are you going to setup the torque arm? Is there provisions/bracket for it? I'm guessing if you position the pinion exactly in line with the tranny output, you should to able to get the rest of the measurements from that. Measure the full width of the Moser and then the distance from one side to the pinion ... transfer that to your new stup.

I think u have to cut off your axle tubes and weld them onto the 8.8 as well. My buddy had one in his TA but just sold it otherwise u could have gotten measurements off of it.

I'm afraid you have a long road ahead of you there...

Also, not too sure Dave's measurements would be that useful. I built Dave's 8.8", and if you use my build dimensions your stock axles WILL NOT fit.

Having built quite a few of these, it still takes me a really long time to build an 8.8". It would not be worth it if my jig didn't exist. I'd just do a budget 9" Ford fwiw. Take that for what you want.
