After I installed a new Strange 12-Bolt, I opened up the 10-Bolt and found a busted diff carrier with chewed up spiders

Surprisingly, everything else was still in tact, so I'm just gunna weld it up into a spool and use it as a spare

snapped pretty much alkl the teeth off the ring and pinion. Only had 5 track passes on it to my knowledge and at the time only had headers. It lasted for 2 months with my mods i have now and it took more abuse than I thought it would

It's pretty silent when accelerating, but whines a bit during decel....

Also, when coasting under light throttle, there's a hefty moaning at a certain sweet spot

I've grown used to it, but I've had dozens of people take a ride and ask "What's that noise?"

Oh yeah, it's clunky as hell when making tight turns, but I've got other problems as my ABS sensor recently got munched by the reluctor ring

Nice...I'm almost dreading the install because I know there will be issues of some sort. Guess you gotta pay to play in this game...

im not sure which is worse, broken ring and pinion on a 10 bolt or leaking, gear niose, clunking or the huge hole in my pocket + all of those issues??

I broke the 8.8 in my GT (4.10's, welded tubes) cruising at 70mph on the freeway! Its mechanical, any number of things can kill em'

(I was driving along and int started whining faintly, then over 20 miles it grew LOUD and I pulled over. Found out the bolt in the back had backed out some and the ring/pinion were whining like mad, mechanic put a longer/better bolt in, locktight-red and it was fixed...not really BROKE, but....)

Thumbs down

Mine broke when I went to pass someone. They tell me that the right rear tire flew up in the air. That's what I hear anyways. The last thing I remember is that I was in the passing lane. Three days later I woke up in the hospital. Guess we went for quite a ride. Will post pics of my poor baby asap!!!

Has anyone had any kind of serious accident like I did when your rear became toasted?
