Default torsen dis-assembly??

is this possible?? since my axle decided to disintegrate and lose 2 handfuls of metal shavings throughout the rear, we want to pull the torsen (which seems to be fine so far) apart to clean it and check for any more damage. only problem is, we cant fnid anything anywhere about disassembly and reassembly. spoke with a buddy who has been a GM tech for 16 years, he says that they arent rebuildable - but i dont kow if he's just going by what they do at the dealership or what. has anyone had their torsen apart that can give us any insight?

I took one apart once, I dropped the clutch at around 4,500 with drag radials, problem was I didnt have enough glue to put it all back together. There may be some insight on this page tho

I tried to take mine apart with no success also. I would say special tools in a factory setting would be neccessary to do so. I also think if you cleaned it out as best as possible with brake clean and spray it out with compressed air it will be fine. It probably won't be long till it comes apart for good anyway...

i agree, you can probably inspect the planatery and spider gears for chips or dammage without taking it apart anyway
