Default Torque values, specs for 7.5" 10 bolt?

I'm installing Richmond 4.10s in my 2000 z28, just need to know what the torque values are for the ring gear bolts, pinion nut, and carrier bearing cap bolts. What is the standard breakin procedure, if there is one? Also, what is an acceptable backlash?

It should have instructions with the new gears and also have the torque recommendations listed. I know my Motive gearset did.

But anyhow, lets see what I can remember.....

I believe it is 65 ft lb for the ring gear bolts and the bearing caps. The pinion nut will be in the inch pound range, ~15-22 after you crush the sleeve. Backlash .008-.012, take it pretty easy meaning no hard launches or shifts for 350-500 miles or so. Get plenty of heat cycles in.

The ring gear bolts are LEFT HANDED, just a heads up since some people might not realize that at first.

I've always heard 15 in-lbs if you are reusing bearings, 25 in-lbs if they are new. I was told by Scott at Driveline Solutions to torque the main bearing caps to 75-85 ft-lbs.

I double checked the torque specs with the instructions for the gears and I was correct in my original post. 65 ft lb for ring gear bolts and bearing caps. And yes, 15 in lb for used bearings.

Thanks for the info, and i'll go through the instructions also. I put some used 3.73s in my 93 z28 guessing all the torques. It worked out all right but it did take me a few minutes to realize the ring bolts are left handed.
