Missing bolts in rear end.....is this bad??
Missing bolts in rear end.....is this bad?? Well.. about 2 months ago i decided to upgrade my auto by installing a 4K converter and tranny cooler, I then bought mickey thompsons, becuase i knew with such a stall i would need better rubber... anyways, to make a long story short, ive been out luanching everybody i know now at the race meet ups, this car is a whole new beast, HOWEVER, i went to get my cats gutted, and while it was on the lift, i looked at my 10 bolt and notice it was missing two bolts.... can this be bad? is it from hard luanching? im kinda confused, so i need your help!!! thanks.
It could be from launching, but it's unlikely. They probably were missed when you were going over them the last time.
I would say it's serious because if the gasket lets go right there and your oil leaks out it's going to whipe out your rear. Being we don't have an oil-level indicator for the rear- you'd probably notice when it burnt up. Probably not a huge concern, but I'd fix it as soon as practical.
You could also just tell people you have a "8-bolt".
