Default How to remove yoke from driveshaft

How in the world do you get the yoke off the drive shaft? It looks like it has small pins pressed through the driveshaft/u joint. Ive drilled those out and still cant get this thing off. Am I missing something?

ALso if I get it off how do I get the new one to stay on with those pins being drilled out? Is there a clip or something?

Thanks!

stock u-joints are held in with nylon. use a small torch and the nylon will squirt out those holes

What he said just use a propane torch to evenly heat the end and the nylon will come out like a snake on the 4th of july...lol .

im not trying to hijack this thread but i have to get mine out also, i have my new rear coming in soon and strange finally called me needing to know what trans i have and they said they need the yoke to balance it... WHAT THE HECK IS THE YOKE? i think its the piece that slides into the trans and connects onto the driveshaft, just wanna make sure before i ship to strange so i dont delay delivery a few more weeks... thanks.

Their gonna use your yole? That means that the front u-joint will be a hybrid. It will be two different sizes unless you new axle has the smaller stock size yoke too, but most upgrade to a 1350 u-joint
