Default Ordered gears, what can I expect?

I just ordered Strange 3.73's and a ratech deluxe install kit. I currently have a 1999 Z28 A4 with the 2.73's. What can I expect? What kind of gains in the 1/4? Whsat kind of SOTP feeling?

Thanks
-Scott

hopefully you ordered gears for a 2 series carrier, or you ordered a ring gear spacer to run 3 series gears on a 2 series carrier.

it is supposed to be better than using a crush style pinion spacer.

Actually, I can't remember. I just know when I get my rears put together, the gear installer tells me to get the solid pinion spacer. He told me why about 5 years ago, but I forgot what he said.

Ratech makes one and you can get them from www.thunderracing.com
http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=67

from Ratech:
Ratech also manufacturs solid pinion bearing spacers, or "crush collars." These are excellent for cars that "shock" their rear ends extremely hard during launching, which is common with manual transmissions. The solid pinion spacer will allow your rear end setup to remain constant after repeated hard launches. (Because this piece is setup slightly different than a standard crush collar, please ensure that your gear installer is familiar with installing solid pinion spacers.)

well in the 1/8th i went from 8.5 to 8.1 and 86mph to 87mph
but my 60th went from 2.1 to 1.8

so u could probably expect something around there if u get traction...

but that was only 2.73's to 3.42's

Good Luck

Sounds like a decent gain on time. I can't wait to change mine to 3.42s.
