Help/Dana 60?

I was wondering on here who has installed there Dana 60, and how much did you cut the driveshaft? I know it needs to be shorten, but everybody I talk to say's different length's.

1.625" according to the info from LS1speed on the original GP thread. I purchased a stronger cromolly one from LS1speed/strange when i ordered mine and got a smoking deal

1.5" - 1.625" is the average but to be 100% sure install the rearend and measure...........

I concur.

Install and measure for your specific requirements and use the the noted 1.5-1.625" as a guide line.

For the price I would just buy one from strange. I think you would be taking a chance shortening the stock shaft. I've seen many aluminum shafts explode. I sold my stock alum shaft on ebay and got $100.00 for it. I think the chromemoly shaft i bought from strange was under 300.00 and it came completely assembled ready to bolt in. I've seen some companies sell them and you have to purchase the universal joints and deal with install the joints.
