Default 2002 '767' Upgraded Slave ??

Anyone want to comment on this part # for the '02 Z06? Was there a change?

12562767 '02 Z06 upgraded slave cylinder

or this 'secret' Master Cylinder?

12570277 -- 'Secret' big bore master cylinder

Thx!

I know the standard LS1 slave number is 12565145. I want to find one more heavy duty. I'd be interested in the Z06 slave if it truly is better. I personally like the McLeod Master, just don't use Valvoline syntec fluid!! I'm switching to ATE Super Blue instead.

Did you check the cost of that slave on GMPartsDirect.com?? It lists at $122, wholesales at $92 and you can buy it for $70 bucks plus shipping from them!!! Wow!

Did you compare them at all? Just curious if it's the same or better than the stock LS1 setup.

it is the updated version of the stock POS slave. it is better and i noticed an improvement right away in shift easiness. now this is only if you have problems now. it is std on the 2000 and up LS1 cars

We used to have interchangeable F-Body & Y-Body Slaves, right?

Is this a C5 only slave now? All C5's ok or something new about the '02 Z06??

I just had a new slave and master cylinder intsalled under warranty. They put the 2000 slave and master back in!! Tell me why they would do that? If [o1 nbm demon] is right about having to have the new master as well that is one thing but they did replace them both. I'm so pissed. How hard is it to install the slave and master? I think Im going to put in the new slave and the Mcloud adj. master. Are those two parts interchangable? I guess they would have to be? I still don't understand the fitting issue. If that was the case then aftermarket master cylinders would have two versions pre-2001' and 2001'+. Apparently the Mcloud works for all years.

One more thing. I thought I was getting the upgraded slave because the service manager said I would be getting the 2002 clutch package and a new slave and master. Here are the part numbers from the paperwork.
12572731 FLYWHEEL
12565145 CYLINDER (the OLD slave)
12570277 CYLINDER

It's funny because it just has the part # and then 'flywheel.' That could be the name of the package but that could just have easily been 'clutch disc' or 'pressure plate.' It better be the whole package- disc, PP and fly! Anyone have the part number for the ZO6 clutch package? This crap is going to go out on me again in 10k.

The old OLD POS was the '288'.
The '145' is the 2000 Z06 Slave if I recall.

The '767' is the newest '02 Z06 Slave, but I guess it may or may not be compatible with F-Bodys?

GM only sells the clutch as a kit - disk, PP, and flywheel. It cannot be broken up. You definitely got a new clutch if that was the part number, unless the dealer tech. kept it for himself. LOL
