I had a set of 3.50 gears than wined real bad. I hated it. To each his own I guess.

I hated when my 3.73 would wine, it got to me so bad i pull them out and install a 3 2 shim on the pinon so now i can hear my engine instead of the whining noice. That noice gets to you if you use the car for a daily driver!!!

I have Richmond 4.10s and they have whined like crazy since they were put in 6 years ago. I have been told that Richmonds whine more than other gears.

my buddies evo had decent whine from low fluid in his rear end. just going to and from driving around with him was getting annoying. i would say no.

I needed to replace my stock GM ring &Pinion mechanic set it up incorrectly when he installed the new axels. GM ring & pinion cost $800. so I ended up w/ Richmond.

no whine w/ GM ring & pinion Richmond only whines (hi pitched wine not like a reverse whine) at Hi expreeway speeds 85 & higher was told that's normal for the Richmond because it's harder metal.

I wouldn't say I like it but I'm used to it. My Strange 12 was dead quiet when new, after beating the crap out of it (5,500-6,000 dumps on slicks) it whines pretty good. Hasn't broke yet. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

i like it.dont ask why unknown answer.i set my gears up a tad loose but when i do a gear swap for someone else i dont like it to whine.gear ratio or brand has nothing to do with whine.its the man installing the gear

I liked it until noises are coming from the rearend and it's gotta' go back in the shop. On decceleration, it sounds like a jetliner coming in for a landing ... mine's more of a whistle though.

my 10 bolt whined so much i cant even tell if my new 12 bolt is whining or not, it likely has slight whine but nothing compared to that terrible 10 bolt
