Do you know of a write up on the 10 bolt? I've never done it before. Blew out the seal after a 65mph burnout. I crawled under the car today and looked at it, seems simple enough. But some guidance would def. help.

the key to the whole procedure is to mark the pinion nut where it is on the pinion shaft. If you torque the nut down too much when you put it back on, you will **** up the preload, if you dont torque it enough you will **** up the pre load, if you **** up the preload you can kiss your rear goodbye. Mark the nut with a crayon or a punch. Also make sure you grese the inside of the seal before you slip it on, also check the back of the old seal to insure the spring that keeps tension on the pinion shaft is still there, sometinmes they break off and fall in the diff causing the leak to begin with, if its broken you want to get that out of the diff. MARK THE NUT

good luck

So basically remove the ubolts from driveshaft, mark pinion nut, remove pinion nut, pull out pinion, replace seal, slap it all back together? I may be overestimating my competence here, should I just pay 200$ to get it replaced or is this something I can do? Also what are torque specifications on bolts and stuff when tighten them back down.

You got it, but the pinion isnt gonna come out, only the yoke will slide off the pinion, if its stubborn use a puller if you dont have one they are $8 at Autozone. When you torque the pinion nut back down to wherever you marked it, go a little, little, little bit more if anything. To see how preload works look at this link http://www.keliente.com/gears1.htm
