Gear Ratio Advise
I need help on deciding what gear to go with for my 9" Moser rear end.
I've got the 454 BBC with 650hp. My stall converter is set at 3500 rpm stall. I'm going to be running the 325/50r/15 MT ET Drag Radials. Thats a 28" tire. I've got the 700R4 tranny.
My questionis for a street/stip setup should I go with a 4:11 or 4:56 ratio or something else?
Thanks for the help.

Well... I would say no lower than 4.11's. Depending on how much street use, I would personally go with 3.73's. Cars with more power accelerate faster with a taller gear. (depending on weight)

Probably 90% Street / 10% Track. I really just want to run it a few times. Get it set-up pretty good and enjoy driving it. Occasionally go to the track and if I feel like running then great if not I'll just watch.
Of course I'll always be open for a race though

According to the Richmond Gear web site, You would be crossing the finish line at 6500rpm w/ 4.11's. But that dont factor in your stall converter, so your rpms "might" be more like 6700-6800rpm's. I would go with the 3.73's. With BB Tq, and 650 Hp, you should be able to move those gears no problem. Depending on if you would like a lower highway rpm, you could go to 3.42's with that kind of power.
